Obituary of William (Bill) Hyde Sr.
HYDE- William (Bill) John Sr. of Port Colborne passed away peacefully with his family at his side at the Port Colborne General Hospital on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at the age of 82. Loving husband of Claire Hyde for 62 years, dear father of Bill (Ambra) Hyde Jr. of Welland, Cheryl (Dave) Bilodeau of Port Colborne, Sandra (Rob) Hyde of Ridgeway and Mike (Betsy) Hyde of Ennismore, grandfather of Michael Bilodeau, Krista (Jordan) Ristine, Melissa (Charlie) Stewart, Eric Hyde, Steven Hyde, Brandon Martine, Neil Hyde, and Megan Hyde, great grandfather of Ella, Noah, Josh, Weston and Drew. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was a Second-Class Stationery Engineer retiring in 1994. Bill enjoyed, in his younger years, fishing, boating, hunting, hockey and travelling. He loved the New England Patriots, the Toronto Blue Jays, his Timmies, Bobcaygeon and spending time with his grandchildren. Cremation has taken place. The Hyde family will receive visitors at the DAVIDSON FUNERAL HOME, 135 Clarence Street, Port Colborne on Friday, August 24, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Vigil prayers will be recited at the funeral home on Friday, August 24th at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Wieslaw Woloszyn officiating. Private Rite of Committal will take place at Oakwood Cemetery at a later time. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church.
