William worked hard all his life to provide for his family in 1958 he went to work at the Muscowequan Residential school as a maintenance man and then received his engineering certificate, in 1976 he moved to Gordon Residential school where he worked until he was 70 years old. Throughout his life William always loved sports, baseball, softball, hockey and curling; in the early 50’s he would go every Sunday to play ball as a pitcher for whoever got to his house on Sunday morning, he was well known by the local towns as that Big Indian pitcher. During his later years he followed his sons and then his grandsons to hockey games and tournaments across the provinces. In the summer it was softball he loved to watch his children, grandchildren and great grands play the sport he loved. William will be sadly missed at the hockey arenas and ball parks as he was their #1 Fan.
