Obituary Overview
Forever In Our Hearts
It is with sadness and heavy hearts, but with wonderful memories that we announce the passing of our loving and devoted father, grandpa, and great-grandpa on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at the age of 90 years at Sunset Extendicare in Regina, SK.
Bill was predeceased by his mother Grace Sinclair (White); and his wife of 59 years Irene.
Bill is survived by his sons Tom (Jean), Orville (Darlene), and Harvey (Carmen); daughters Debbie (Gary) and Pat; grandchildren Nicole (Jai), Tamara (Troy), Amanda, David (Becky), Daniel (Sarah), Michael, Kailla (Fred), Kristopher (Ali), Zach (Mehgan) and Tanner; great-grandsons William, Dash, Lukas and Hudson; as well as great-granddaughters Alice, Hayley, Bentley, Easton, and Andi.
Bill was raised in Girvin, Saskatchewan where he began his life’s journey.
Dad grew up during a time when he witnessed events that shaped the man he became.
For dad’s generation life was not easy. They witnessed the drought and dust storms of the thirties, war and raising families in a changing world.
Dad raised his family in Craik, SK until 1969 when he decided to relocate to Regina and begin a long career with Interprovincial Pipeline (Enbridge) where he retired in 1992.
Shortly after moving to Regina dad involved himself in minor sports. From refereeing, sitting on the Board of Directors of the Regina Boys Hockey League, to over 40 years of timekeeping for the Regina Pats Organization.
An avid sports fan, dad continued to have season tickets for the Pats long after retiring from the timekeeper’s box.
Dad’s retirement years provided him with more time to spend with his grandchildren and was often found accompanying them on school trips.
Dad enjoyed travel and particularly his trips to Hawaii where in his late 80’s he enjoyed parasailing over the ocean.
Dad will be very missed. His life was centered on family, his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to Regina EMS, Regina General Emergency Department, Unit 5-E, William Booth Convalescent Care, Sunset Extendicare, and the doctors from Stapleford Clinic.
A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at Regina Funeral Home and Cemetery, 4001 East Victoria Avenue, Regina, SK on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Bill may be made to the Regina Humane Society, PO Box 3143, Regina, SK S4P 3G7.
