It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Willard Jensen Green on January 28, 2018 surrounded by love and in the presence of family at South Huron Hospital. Born August 8, 1930, in Arthur, Ontario. Willard is survived by loving wife Marion Snider-Green of Grand Bend. He was the most loving and humourous father of Susan (Ron) Coleman, Dan (Anita) Green, Judy Manzara (Mike Bouchard), Carolyn (Eugene) Pritchard, Ginny (Ken) Chapman, Robin Green Fink (Chris), Randy Green, grandchildren, Casey, Ryan, Michelle, Tamara, Darren, Nathan, Amanda, Corey, Josh, Jordan, Shawn, Breanna, William, plus 14 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandson.
Willard is survived by his brother Orlo Green (Gwen), sisters-in-law Connie (Gord) Willis, Carol Micks, and Cheryl Johnstone-Green, brother-in-law Russell Snider (Verona) and sister-in-law Grace Horner.
Willard will be missed by best friend and nephew Lowell Green (Deborah), Ottawa, niece Phyllis German, Kitty Green and family and dear niece Laura Green and long-time friends John and Celia Hughes.
Willard is predeceased by his first wife Muriel (Atwell) Green, (1996), son Perry Green (2014) and great granddaughter Alyssa Dryden (2011).
Born to Henry and Mabel (Jensen) Green (deceased) on August 8, 1930. Predeceased by siblings, Gordon, Genevieve, Virgil, Cecil, Nilah and Ken, mother-in-law Myra Briglia, father-in-law Cecil Atwell, brothers-in-law, Irving Snider, and Myron Snider.
Willard worked at CN, then became owner of Andersons Art Store, opened up Denfield General Store and finished out his career working at the University of Western Ontario.
He loved music, art, automobiles and enjoyed cottage life. He walked the beach every morning whether it was in Port Franks or Freeport, Bahamas. He was a stubborn Green until the end. His greatest joy was spending time with his kids and grandkids.
Uncle to many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to the amazing nurses and doctors at University Hospital, London and South Huron Hospital, Exeter, who took great care of him and allowed us to turn his hospital room into our own home away from home. Your kindness and consideration will be remembered forever.
Friends and family will be received on Thursday, February 1, 2018 2 p.m. to 4p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m at MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 1559 Fanshawe Park Road East, London, ON, N5X 3Z9. Funeral will be officiated by Rev. Frank Struth and Rev. Brian Laidler on Friday, February 2, 2018 at 11 a.m in the Memorial Funeral Home Chapel.
