Wilfred Williams
Williams, Wilfred Jefferson – 84, of East Preston,
Passed away peacefully in Halifax Infirmary Hospital Sunday, December 31st,
2017. Born December 12th, 1933 he was the son of the
late Samuel Williams and Ann (Thomas) Williams. Wilfred is survived by
his beautiful wife of 64 years, Genevieve; sons, Milton (Pam), Lester (Teresa),
Randall, East Preston, Darren, Dartmouth, daughters, Ann (Reg), Truro, Collette
(Bill), Dartmouth, Angela, East Preston; Godchild Rev. Stewart Williams, 15
Grandchildren, 16 Great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Wilfred
was a loving husband and father who always provided for his family. In
his early years, he was a construction worker for numerous construction
companies. He was later employed with Bolands/Atlantic Wholesalers for
30+ years where he also held a position as shop stewart until his
retirement. He was a wise man who had a way with words. He had a
love for Ford vehicles. He also enjoyed spending time with his wife and
taking weekend trips away. He was an usher for 34 years, which he
thoroughly enjoyed, member of the Brotherhood and served on the Cemetery
Committee, all at East Preston United Baptist Church. He was a member of
New Beginnings Ministries. He was the youngest of his family and the last
surviving family member. He was predeceased by son, Eugene, sisters, Kathleen
Parsons, Adeline Williams, Edith Crawley, Louise Slawter; brothers, Samuel
Williams Jr., Howard Williams Sr., Matthew Thomas Sr. and Alfred Crawley.
On Thursday, January 4th, 2018 public viewing will be from 11 a.m.
to 1 p.m. with funeral service to follow at 1 p.m. at New Beginnings Ministries,
26 Cherry Brook Rd., Dartmouth, Rev. Kirby Spivey III and Rev. Glenn Gray
officiating. Donations may be made to NBM. Special thanks from the
family to the doctors and nurses at the Halifax Infirmary.
