Obituary for Wayne Ellis Othen
Wayne Ellis Othen
December 31, 1953 – May 6, 2018
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and nephew to a very special uncle.
Wayne was born in Red Deer, Alberta. He moved to BC in 1976, living more than 30 years in the Radium Hot Springs area.
Wayne was a talented artist, spending much of his free time painting. He enjoyed music and taught himself to play guitar. His love of travel took him to many different destinations. He was known as “Peppy” in Mexico and had his own “Wayne’s World” in Cuba. Wayne took great pride in everything he did in life. Anything worth doing … was worth doing well. His biggest source of pride however … were his two sons.
Wayne was predeceased by his parents Charles and Dorothea and one brother. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife Barbara, his two sons Cory (Lynne) and Matthew, three grandchildren, four brothers and one sister.
He has left this world too soon and he will be sadly missed.
There will be private family gathering at a later date.
If so desired … donations may be made in Wayne’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society.
Our family would like to thank the doctors and palliative care nurses that assisted in Wayne’s care. A very special thank you to Vivian for her compassion and support.
Arrangements entrusted to McPherson Funeral Service.
