Wanda Avis Hall
1948-2018
Wanda Avis (Patterson) Hall – 69, of Berwick,
passed away Saturday, September 29, 2018 in the Valley Regional
Hospital, Kentville. Born in Berwick, she was a daughter of the late
Cecil and Marion (Morse) (Patterson) Morton and step daughter of the
late C. Donald Morton. Wanda studied pharmacy at Dalhousie University
and was a manager for Lawtons Drugs in the Halifax area during the
1970’s. She then spent 15 years lovingly caring for her
children and later returned to her love of pharmacy working as a
Pharmacy Technician with Loblaw’s in Halifax,
Kingston and New Minas. Family always came first for Wanda. She
enjoyed books, music, good conversation, flowers and reading
with her grandchildren. She was a pioneer with the Prescott Group,
made a significant contribution for 12 years as a board member and
chair of the Regional Residential Services Society and took a keen
interest in any and all events her children participated in, including
the Nova Scotia Special Olympics, Guides, skating, soccer and
basketball. She is survived by her husband, Howard; a daughter, Erin
(Stephen) Cyr, Halifax; a son, Andrew (Yoni), Seoul, South Korea; five
brothers, Neil (Pam) Morton, Tremont, Annapolis County; Rennie (Tara)
Morton, Berwick; Wade (Anna) Morton, Berwick; Hugh (Dawn) Morton,
Berwick and Rodney (Angela) Morton, Somerset; three grandchildren,
William, Alexander and Adriana; many cousins; numerous nieces and
nephews, with special mention of Megan, Scott, Raina and Maddox
Saunders. She was predeceased by a beloved son, Anthony
« Ian » Hall; sister, Carol Lutz; a brother, Brian
Patterson. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held from 6-8
p.m. Thursday, October 4, 2018 in the White Family Funeral Home,
Kentville, where the funeral service, followed by a reception, will be
held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 5, 2018, Reverend Lori Crocker
officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in the Berwick
Cemetery. Family flowers only by request. The family wishes to express
their sincere appreciation to the doctors, nurses and staff of the
Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Donations in memory may be made
to the Valley Regional Hospital or Prescott Group.
