Walter (Norman) Osmond
March 19, 1947 – October 22, 2018
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Walter Norman Osmond announces his peaceful passing at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre in Port aux Basques, NL on Monday, October 22nd, 2018 at the age of 71 years. Born in Port aux Basques, NL. Norman was the son of the late Clifford and Rebecca Osmond (nee Short). He was also predeceased by his wife Donalda Smith Osmond in 2016; sister Harriett Lillington; sisters-in-law Sheila AuCoin, Mardee Osmond; brothers-in- law Butch AuCoin and Leslie Currie.
He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his loving son Dean Smith of Summerside, PEI; his loving daughters Treena Osmond (Dwayne) of Middle Sackville, NS, Natasha Osmond (Brad) of Gaetz Brook, NS; grandchildren Patrick Smith, John Smith, Dillon Hughson, Matthew Hughson, Brennan Hughson, Jullia Hughson; brothers and sisters Carrie Currie, Rose (Albert) White, Garnet Osmond (Nora), William Osmond (Marilyn), Dave Osmond, Eric Osmond (Selina) Terry Osmond (Barbara) all of Port aux Basques, NL, Nina (Bud) Davis of Fort McMurray, AB; brothers and sisters-in-law Audrey English of Doyles, NL, Allan (Sharon) Smith of Fort Mac AB, Cyril (Linda) Smith of Codroy NL, Guy (Elaine) Smith of Coal Brook, NL, Jocelyn (Larry) Corscadden of Saint John NB, Arlene LeRiche of South Branch NL, Colleen (Steve) Clayton of London ON, Dean Smith (Christine) of Lloydminister, SK, Randy (Sheila) Smith of Fort Mac AB, Rodney Smith of South Branch, NL, and Morgan Lillington Port aux Basques, NL, plus many nieces, nephews and friends.
In keeping with Norman’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 26th, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at East Haven Funeral Home Inc. in Port aux Basques, NL. The memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 27th, 2018 at 2 pm from St. James Anglican Church officiated by The Rev. Edward Coleman with interment of ashes to follow at St. James Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill, TCH, NL. Flowers are graciously accepted or donations in Norman’s memory can be made to a charity of one’s choice.
