Obituary Overview
In Loving Memory Of
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Wade Owen Greek age 81 of Springhill announce his passing on Thursday, May 24, 2018 with his daughter Andrea by his side at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Upper Nappan.
Born in Blue Rocks, NS, he was the son of the late Richard and Marie (Whynot) Greek.
After a full career in the Army which took Dad all over the world, we settled down in Kingston Ontario. Dad was an entrepreneur, a man of many trades and ideas, creating the Kanata woodstove from scratch to manufacture. In later years he went back to college with me. He studied real estate and I pursued a Nursing career. It was great fun to be at college with my Dad and meet in the cafeteria for coffee. Dad was a “rambling man”, he could never stay in one spot too long, always having a love for the road, travelling and seeing new places. It was a great privilege to be with Dad as he traveled to his final destination, we love him and will miss him very much. Cook jam Dad
Wade will be lovingly remembered by his children Mitchell (Kim), Graham (Deb) and Andrea (Andrew MacDonald); grandchildren Christopher, Danielle (Kain), Sonia and Elijah; great grandchildren Sawyer and Sadie; and remembered dearly by Donna Carswell and Judy Hood; siblings Robert, Betty and Lloyd.
Besides his parents, Wade was predeceased by siblings Florence, Clyde and Victor.
Following Wade’s wishes cremation has taken place and a celebration of Wade’s life will be held at a later date in Ontario.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 98 Church St. Amherst, 902-667-9906.
The Family would like to thank the nurses and all staff of the surgical unit at Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre. You looked after our Dad many times over the years, thank you so much for your awesome and dedicated care of our Father.
