Violet Saint
Violet Saint (Wight) (nee Penney) – Of St. John’s, but originally from St. Anthony, passed peacefully away after a brief illness at the Miller Centre on Wednesday, April 11th, 2018. She had just celebrated her 100th birthday on Friday, March 30th, 2018, with family and friends at Cambridge Estates, where she had resided. Predeceased by her husbands Guy Saint and William Wight and all her brothers and sisters. Left to celebrate her wonderful long life is her devoted son Arthur Wight (Judith), her grandson Stephen Wight (Karen), granddaughter Lisa Grant (Rick), and great grandchildren: Kelsea, Jenny and Jacob Grant; son-in-law Ed (Cavell), caring niece Pats Kean (Bill) and a large number of other family members and friends. Special thank you to Cambridge Estates for their care and compassion and the Miller Centre for their kindness. Visitations to be held at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Friday, April 13th from 2pm-4pm and 7pm-9pm. Funeral service will take place on Saturday, April 14th at 11am from Barrett’s Chapel, followed by interment at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, 53 James Lane, St. John`s. Flowers gratefully accepted.
