On Nov 20th, my best friend and beautiful Mom, Victoria Mary Lois Thompson (Vicky) passed away at home peacefully in my arms where she wanted to be. Vicky was a hard worker and a loving single mom.
Her career began at the age of 19 (Imperial Optical) and lasted until she was 67 (Cascade 0ptical).
Vicky was also well known for being an incredibly talented poet. She could touch your heart and make you laugh or cry with her words when she put pen to paper. Vicky had many talents, but the thing she was best at above all was being a Mom. Because she had such a big and kind heart she was like a mother to some, but actually only had one daughter, Shalane, who would always say with a mom like mine you didn’t need a dad… she filled both roles with no problem. We were each other’s everything. She was a
great lover of animals but especially dogs (sometimes liking them more than people). She always believed there was something magical about the 1st snowfall and taught me how important it was to remain young at heart.
Vicky was predeceased by her Father (Harry) Mother (Mona), two older sisters Glennyne and Shirley. She is survived by her devoted daughter Shalane (Andreas) and her loving sister Janie (Jim) as well as many nieces and nephews.
No one will ever compare to you Mom. LYPNN. No funeral by request.
