Obituary of Valerie Penton
Passed suddenly away at her residence Valerie Lila Rowena Penton (Mercer) of Bishop’s Falls at the age of 57 years.
Valerie loved her family, her siblings and her family-in-law. She also had many friends whom she considered to be family and truly valued their friendship. Over the years Valerie worked with the public at various work places, Kountry Kasuals and the Irving Stores. Valerie then decided to leave her place of employment to stay at home to care for her boys. Following this time she returned to work again, where she then became employed at the Nova Recycling Depot and then decided to continue her education and enrolled in a Personal Care Attendant course, she also enjoyed spending quality time and caring for her dad following the passing of her mom. During this time Valerie developed a very special relationship with her mother’s sister (Aunt Alma), who Valerie considered to be her second mom. Her most recent job was with Exploits Home Care Agency which involved working with her parents-in-law. She very much enjoyed spending time with the love of her life and best friend (Don),which involved being in the woods cutting wood, fishing, hunting, spending time at their cabin or just up for a ride sightseeing. In recent years she also enjoyed spending time over in the garden with her brother Alvin which included planting, taking care of his garden while he was away working and then the harvesting. Together they preserved many things as pickles, beets, jams, apple sauce just to name a few.
Valerie is predeceased by her two brothers, Neil and Keith; parents, Don and Rowena Mercer; grandparents; aunts, uncles.
She leaves to mourn her husband Don and her two sons Trevor (Jessica) and Travis, she loved the three of them and loved them unconditional, and done everything she could with them and for them until her passing.
She also leaves her brothers: Wayne (Elaine), Alvin (Judy) and Byron (Collene) and their families, along with her aunts, uncles and many cousins.
She also leaves her parents-in-law Don and Margaret Penton; Don’s siblings; Rick (Patsy), Pearce (Debbie), Bob (Kim), Dorothy (Bob), Lisa (John deceased), Debbie (Dave) and Denise (Phil); also her friends to many to mention and a circle of other family.
