Valerie Ann Crilley
1956-2018
The death of Valerie Ann Crilley of Minto, NB occurred on Sunday,
October 7, 2018 at the Chalmer’s Regional Hospital in
Fredericton, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Minto, NB she was the daughter of Geraldine (Fairley) Girouard
and the late Sylvain (Babe) Girouard. She was a loving wife, mother,
grandmother, daughter, sister and friend to many.
Val graduated from UNB Fredericton with her Bachelor of Nursing degree
and she loved being a nurse for many years. She took pride in her
career and put her loving heart into everything she did. She worked as
a registered nurse at the Oromocto Public Hospital for many years and
later transferred to the W.G. Bishop Nursing Home Hospital. Even after
she retired, she continued to be relied on by many for her natural
ability to provide advice and support. Val was passionate about
palliative care and was beside many patients and their families during
the most difficult times. She was also very involved in her community
church.
Val was very close with her family and many friends, whom she loved
very much and who loved her. She enjoyed family gatherings to share
stories and the laughter or tears that came with the memories shared.
She would light up a room with her smile anytime she entered.
In addition to her mother, Val was survived by husband, Don Crilley;
daughter, Amy Girouard; mother, Geraldine Girouard; sister, Annette
Girouard … Jeffrey (Gilbert); stepchildren, Katie Hebert
(Deedee), Paul Crilley (Angellissa), Stephanie Friars (Thomas),
Sherrie Knapman (Anthony) and Peter Crilley; grandchildren, Fallon,
Jacob, Josey, Mandalyn, Jackson and Violet.
Val was predeceased by her memere & pepere, Sylvain Sr. and
Josephine (Daigle) Girouard; grammie & grampie, Joseph and Ada
(Woodcock) Fairley.
Resting at Hogg Funeral Services (10 King Street, Minto) with
visitation on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8pm. Funeral Service will take
place 1:00 PM Thursday, October 11, 2018 from Christian Community
Church. Interment will take place in Full Gospel Cemetery, Diamond
Drive. For those who wish, donations can be made to the palliative
care units at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital or the Oromocto Public
Hospital and would be appreciated by the family.
