Obituary Overview
Trygve Arthur Arnason
Trygve Arthur Arnason (originally from Dartmouth, NS) passed away unexpectedly in his North Vancouver, BC home on December 23, 2017. He was 31 years old.
There are no words that can describe the magnitude in which Tryg will be missed. He led a full and adventurous life. His contagious smile and kind heart touched many people around the world. He truly brightened every room he entered and has left a lasting impression on all of us.
He was a gifted musician, athlete, writer and a man of many talents. He could pick up and master a skill quicker than anyone.
Tryg traveled the world by the age of 30. He saw and experienced the places that had always intrigued him and in true Tryg fashion, he documented his travels by sharing videos of his backflips in each destination. His most memorable experiences included a 6-week yoga certification course in Rishikesh, India and a solo bike tour in Australia (much to his mother’s dismay) from Townsville to Melbourne, riding 80-110kms per day and covering thousands of kilometers of coastline and scenic sites. All he needed was his backpack, bike, and a guitar when he could get his hands on one. He enjoyed the simple things in life. He felt most at peace when exploring the outdoors and was always looking for the next big adventure. He settled in North Vancouver, BC with his beloved partner Katherine and they spent their free time camping, skiing, kayaking, and exploring the mountains and islands of BC.
Tryg was a loving son, brother, uncle, and boyfriend. He put family first and considered his close group of friends to be part of his family. He particularly enjoyed making unannounced visits home to Halifax to surprise us all. Regardless of what life threw our way, he always made us smile.
He is survived by his parents Trygve Sr. and Debbie, sisters Bevin (Mark Gorelick), Erin (Tareq Abdullah), Rebecca (Grant Carstensen), Alyssa (Joe Melanson), nieces Mackenzie, Charlotte, Ella, Emma, Rose, and Violet, nephews Tyler and Gunnar, and his partner Katherine Farrell.
Not one day will go by that we will not think of Tryg. We were so proud of the way he valued grand experiences and went after the ones that topped his bucket list. We ask that you all honour Tryg by taking a look at your own bucket list and checking something off it this year. He would love that.
You are forever in our hearts Little Tryg.
