Tony Sluga June 27 1964 June 29 2018

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Tony Peter Sluga. Tony is survived by his children whom he cherished more than anything, his daughter Georgia and son Thomas, as well as their mother Martha. Also grieving are Tony’s sister Anne Marie, brother Ed, sister-in-law Claire, nephew Jack and niece Jodie. Tony was born in Toronto and was a graduate of Ryerson and Columbia University, where he earned a Masters degree. Tony was successful in his work as a project manager in the real-estate development industry until suffering a massive stroke in 1999 at the age of 35. Defying all odds, Tony would not allow his limitations to define him and worked tirelessly to walk again. He also worked, with his usual gregarious spirit, to maintain the friendships he so valued. It is to Tony’s eternal credit that his passing has so deeply affected so many people, including the many friends he made in Kensington Market, Etobicoke and other communities. Tony was a generous and thoughtful person and a lesson to all of us in perseverance. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to March of Dimes, Canada. Friends will be received at the Ridley Funeral Home, 3080 Lake Shore Blvd. W. (at 14th St., between Islington and Kipling Aves., 416-259-3705) on Monday, July 9, 2018 from 3pm to 8pm. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, July 10, 2015 at 10am at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal. Cremation will follow and Inurnment will take place at a later date. Messages of Condolence may be placed at RidleyFuneralHome.com.
