TAVANO, Tommaso – Passed away peacefully at the Greater Niagara General Hospital on Friday December 28, 2018 in his 98th year. Born February 14, 1921 in Gimigliano, Italy. Beloved husband of 67 years to his loving wife Rosina. Cherished father of Anthony (Paola) Joseph (Ida) and Angie Tavano-Rupp (John Cerminara), all of Niagara Falls. Loving Nonno of Rosemarie, Thomas and Joseph Tavano and Natalie and James Rupp. He will be sadly missed by his sisters-in-law Maria Rotella and Maria Tontoli and brother-in-law Tommasso Gariano. Predeceased by his son Frank, grandson Thomas Paul, brother Francesco Tavano and sisters Maria Iocopino, Saveria Tavano, Gioconda Pappaianni, his brothers-in-law Nicola Gariano, Angelo Gariano and sister-in-law Marianna Biamonte. He will be remembered always as a dedicated father, always putting his family first. Friends are invited to call at the PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME, 6062 Main St. Niagara Falls, visiting Sunday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Vigil prayers will be celebrated at 3:30 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday at 1 pm at Our Lady of the Scapular Church. The Rite of Committal will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
