OBITUARY
Timothy Patrick STAUCH
September 8, 1966 – July 15, 2018
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Timothy Patrick Stauch (known to most as Patrick). He left this world on Sunday July 15th, 2018 among friends, at a festival of art and music on the Cheam First Nation, in beautiful British Columbia. His final hours were spent where he was happiest, surrounded by nature, great friends and sharing his songs. Patrick is predeceased by his father, Rudy, and his mother, Maureen. He is left to mourn his loss and be comforted by his incredible music; sister Betty Jo Kaiser (Dean), and brother James Stauch (Lisa Kulhavy). His nieces were an inspiration for much of his songwriting, and he loved them dearly. Julia, Michaela, and Olivia Kaiser and Nahla Kulhavy will always remember « Uncle P » with fondness.
Patrick was a proud small business owner, but his real passion was music. A gifted guitarist, vocalist and songwriter, he wrote, recorded and performed everything from bluegrass, country and folk to acid jazz, hip hop and musical theatre. He had a boyish wonder, generous nature and joyful spirit that shone brightly in his music. He collaborated, befriended and shared this talent with people in all four corners of the earth, from many walks of life, faiths and traditions. Patrick lived his life to the full, traveling as often as he was able. His talent was breathtaking, his lyrics infused with humour, wryness and a quest to shine the light on injustices and the quirks and excesses of our culture of consumption. He was a star whose light was extinguished much too soon. May he still be shining somewhere in the heavens. Namaste, Bro.
A celebration of Patrick’s life will take place at 2 p.m. on Monday, July 30th at the Memorial Building of the Southern Alberta Pioneers and Their Descendants, 3625 4th Street S.W., Calgary, Alberta.
