OBITUARY
Tim James Cornelsen
5 September , 1985 – 27 April , 2018
With deep deep sorrow we announce the sudden passing of our loving father, husband, son, brother, and beloved friend, Timothy James Cornelsen. Sadly, after a hard battle with mental illness Tim took his own life at the age of 32 years old on April 26, 2018.
Tim will never stop being loved by the love of his life Heather Campbell-Cornelsen. They met April 2007 and married on the happiest day of their lives June 16, 2012. Tim and Heather shared a new happiest day of their lives on November 18, 2013 when their first son Reidar Ross was born, their hearts knew new bounds of love on August 5, 2015 when their son Magnus Gunnar joined the family which also included their fur babies. Tim leaves behind his greatest legacy in his children whom he was so incredibly proud of.
The favorite son of Stan Cornelsen (Theresa), Glenda MacLennan (Frans), and favorite little brother to Lynn MacLennan (Ben), and big brother to Laurie Cornelsen. A true brother lost as well for Tara and Rudy Venturini, his in-laws. Most fun crazy and silly Uncle to Carter, Jaiden, and his forever Valentine Mikayla. Loved like a son of their own by his father and mother-in law Ronald and Cathy Campbell. Tim built a brotherhood of close friends who stood by him through life’s good times and bad, he leaned on them through his mental illness and were there for him all the way through, Ryan, Trevor (Jenneth), Pawel (Angela), Adam, Chris and Jason. He will be dearly missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and colleagues old and new, he made many friends during his time with us.
Born & raised in Winnipeg graduating in 2004 Tim was an incredibly intelligent and gifted with many talents. Creative, artistic, strong, hardworking, sharp, personable, and capable of making friends with people from any walk of life. Tim experienced so much in life, he really had a thirst for adventure and a good time. He was a hopeless romantic, fiercely loyal and dedicated to his people. He was passionate about hip-hop music, it helped him feel connected and understood, and it made him happy. He had recently taken a interest in golfing and enjoyed bonding and improving on new skills. He was also very self-aware and able to understand his mind frame, state of well-being and mental illness, he battled as hard as he possibly could.
Tim had four significant careers in his life because he was talented and always desired to grow and improve himself. Out of high school he went to work for his Uncle Will from whom he valued mentorship, learned the skills of the trade and gained confidence in himself. Tim cherished the opportunity to work alongside his cousins and Uncles and appreciate the value of the Cornelsen family work ethic. Which brought him to another familiar family business long haul truck driving, where he was mentored by his own father and enjoyed spending time travelling the country driving for New Hope Transport. During this time he got engaged, the company seeing the potential in Tim offered him a job inside the office, allowing him to spend time at home and the opportunity for them to start their marriage and family off the road. Shortly after the birth of his first son Tim began studying for an opportunity in pest management and started a company out of their new home. River City Pest Control ran from 2014-2017 allowing the family to work at home together and eventually work with their dear friend Chris. Eventually gaining confidence and seeking the best opportunity possible for his family Tim took another opportunity of mentorship from his father in law Ron Campbell and started at Sus Realty in 2017. He touched so many people through Sus Realty and all his careers, valued coworkers, family and friends who helped him along the way.
Service to be held Saturday May 5, 2018 at 1:30 PM at Masonic Hall, 420 Corydon Avenue, with reception to follow.
