Tien Dat Luu, husband of Anh Hoang Luu, passed away on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at the age of 66.
Born on June 12, 1952 in Hanoi, Vietnam, Tien led a humble life of integrity and service his entire life. Leaving Vietnam in 1979 and becoming a refugee through the precarious journey by boat to Hong Kong, Tien eventually built a new life in Canada for him and his family through a combination of hard work and community support. Throughout his life and especially in his last few years, Tien provided back to the community, volunteering his time and resources to associations such as the Christmas Bureau and the Vietnamese Canadian Friendship Society. He especially enjoyed volunteering, gardening, carpentry, and spending time with his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his wife Anh Hoang Luu, children Amy Luu and Andrew Luu, his two grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and their families.
