Obituary of Thomas Donahoe
DONAHOE: Thomas (Tom) James, Sr. –
A resident of Chatham, Thomas Donahoe passed away at the Chatham-Kent Hospice on Sunday, July 22, 2018 at the age of 76.
Born in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, Tom was the son of the late Joseph and Leota (Wilcox) Donahoe.
Beloved husband of the late Lena Donahoe (nee Mowatt) (2017) for 50 beautiful years.
Loving father of Tom Donahoe, Jr. (Nanci) of London and Christine Donahoe of Chatham.
Dear brother of Mary Kennedy of Calgary, John Donahoe (Mary Ann) of Newcastle and Paul Donahoe of Dundas. Predeceased by his sister Elizabeth Harrington and brother Joe Donahoe.
Beloved uncle of Doug King (Geraldine) of Chatham, great-uncle of Caitlyn and Meagan, and also missed by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, friends and extended family.
Tom was a parishioner of St. Agnes Catholic Church. He was a dog lover, and cared for many cherished dogs throughout his life. He began his career at Motor Wheel and retired from Fabco after many years of service. He will be remembered for his kindness, his sense of humour and his work ethic.
Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Thursday from 2:00 – 4:00 pm and 7:00 – 9:00 pm. Vigil prayers will be held Thursday at 7:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 52 Croydon Street, Chatham at 10:00 am on Friday, July 27, 2018 with Fr. Don Pumputis officiating. Cremation to follow with a private family interment to be held at St. Anthony Cemetery at a later date.
