Thomas (Tom) Edward Matheson-75 of Kentville passed away peacefully on January 30th, 2018 in the Valley Regional Hospital. Born on July 16th, 1942 in Cole Harbour, he was the son of the late John Edward Matheson and Dorothy Ferguson.
Tom was a painter by trade and was known for his steady hand and flawless cut in. In his younger years he enjoyed playing baseball in Dartmouth and even got to race stock cars on occasion. In his later years, Tom got to fulfill his dream of driving tractor trailer. He spent a lot of his spare time volunteering for Open Arms.
Tom was a loving husband, father and awesome papa. He loved a good joke and enjoyed telling them. His kind and gentle demeanor will be remembered and greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Patricia Rodgers of Kentville; children Susan of Kentville; Deanna of Port Williams; Debra of Canning and Robert of Kentville; siblings John (Pat) Matheson (pre-deceased); Danny Matheson of Ontario; grandchildren Michael, Melissa, Brandon, Kaitlyn, Leah, Nicholas, Trissa, Cameron, Jaxon, Andre and Hayden; great grandchildren Dawson, Noah, Elliot and several nieces and nephews.
The world is a much kinder, compassionate place because he touched it. Fly high winter hawk.
