MATHESON, Thomas Leslie
Age 80, of Lower Sackville passed away peacefully in the QEII, VG Site on Saturday, February 10, 2018. Born in Glace Bay, he was a son of the late Leslie and Annie (Porter) Matheson. He joined the Canadian Armed Forces on January, 1955 until January 1980. After retirement he became a Commissionaire for the Halifax Harbour Bridge Commissionaires for many years. He was a faithful and dedicated soldier of the Salvation Army of Lower Sackville where he volunteered most of his time. Survived by his daughters, Maryann (Dan Doyle), Lr. Sackville, and Irene (Walter Clarke), Ottawa; 5 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Matheson, Calgary. Predeceased by his beloved wife Delores, infant son Tom, sisters, Davalean and Pearlie. A special thank you to the wonderful staff at the VG, 6A for their exceptional care and compassion. A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 15 from 2-3:30pm and 6-7:30pm in Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Dr. The funeral service will take place on Friday, February 16 at 11 a.m. at the Salvation Army, 51 Metropolitan Ave, Lr. Sackville, followed by burial in Oakridge Memorial Gardens. A reception will follow the burial at the Salvation Army. For those wishing, donations to the Salvation Army Corp. would be appreciated.
