(Retired employee of the City of Oshawa; Former hockey legend of the original Whitby Dunlops (1958 World Champion’s)
Peacefully surrounded by family at the Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Monday, December 3rd, 2018, in his 85th year. Beloved husband of the late Marie (nee Beaupre) of 42 years. Loving father of Tamara O’Connor and Janis Henderson. Cherished grandfather of William Rossiter (Katherine Bawks): and great grandfather of Brodey and Ethan. Survived by siblings Anne Gallas (late Mike), Kathleen Hooey (Gary), and predeceased by Ted O’Connor. Survived sister – in – law Maddy O’Connor. Fondly remembered by sister – in – law Berniece Beaupre (Late John) and cousin Bob Keenan (Maxine). Will be missed by his many nieces, nephews and friends. Tom will be remembered for being the life at the party with his creative dance moves; his wonderful caring disposition. He spent a lot of time playing golf, hockey, and baseball. Special thank you to Dr. Zalewski and nurse Kelly; the palliative care team; nurse Cindy and the PSW’s for the care. Visitation will be held at the OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King St. W. (905-721-1234) on Sunday, December 9th, 2018 from 2 – 4 pm. and on Monday, December 10th, from 10:00 am until time of Celebration of Life service in the chapel at 11:00 am.
