Theresa Annette Sabattis
1949-2018
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Theresa
« Terri » Annette (Bobbie) Sabattis announces her
passing on Sunday November 25, 2018 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers
Hospital in Fredericton, NB.
Born in Springhill, NS, she was the daughter of the late
Edward and Irene (Sabine) Whyte. In addition to her parents, Theresa
was predeceased by her husband Alfred Sabattis; her daughter Wendy
Sabattis; granddaughter Jayde Marie Black-Sabattis; faithful companion
and best fur friend Biscuit Louise; brothers Harry and
Edward.
Theresa is survived by daughters Chief Shelley Sabattis
(Joe), Sheri-Lynn Sabattis, and Erin Annette Sabattis (Mike); sons
Stephen Sabattis (Bobaloo) and Nikia Sabattis (Amanda); chosen son
Chad Paul; a sister Mary Pederson; brothers Tom Whyte (Dave) and
Stephen Whyte; 24 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; companions
Missy and Muwin; several cousins, Godchildren, nieces and nephews as
well as her family at Dalhousie University where she taught for 22
years. She was a proud and active member of the Oromocto First
Nation.
Visitation will be held at 6 Wel-A-Mook-Took Street,
Oromocto, NB on Tuesday, November 27 and Wednesday, November 28, 2018.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Vincent de Paul
Catholic Church on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at 1:00 PM with Father
Charles Udeh as celebrant. Donations in Theresa’s memory can
be made to Hospice House Fredericton or Missing and Murdered
Indigenous Women.
