Theodora Wilhelmene (nee Kistner) of Greenwood Court, Stratford, went home to meet her Saviour, with family by her side on Friday, September 21, 2018. She was 105 years old. Born in Stratford on June 21, 1913, daughter of the late William Kistner and the former Elsie Miller. Beloved wife of the late Cyril ‘Gillie’ Gilliland (2001). Theo is survived by her daughter, Sharon Parker and granddaughters Laurie Prud’Homme (Chris), Lisa Parker Hart (Scott) and Heather Parker (Mike). Also great-grandchildren Tim and Elizabeth Rohfritsch, Brock & Peyton Barclay and step-great-grandchildren Brent and Gavin Plummer and Tyler and Keira Hart and nieces Carol Rutledge, Sheila Murray and Gayle Wright (Alan). Besides her parents and husband, she was pre-deceased by her brothers Wallace ‘Chum’ (Maybelle) and Roy (Vera) and great-granddaughter Jamie Prud’Homme (2008). Prior to her marriage, Theo worked as a bookkeeper for Avalon Fabrics and later as a Firsthand Seamstress at the Stratford Festival. She played violin in the Stratford Civic Orchestra, taught Sunday School, enjoyed sewing, knitting, gardening, her granddaughters and her trips with Gillie to Florida. The family would like to thank all the staff at Anne Hathaway Residence and Greenwood Court Long Term Care for their amazing, loving care of Mom over the past 5 years. Visitation at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron St., Stratford on Saturday, October 6, 2018 from 9:30 a.m. until the Celebration of Life Service at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor David Peterson officiating. Following a reception at the funeral home, interment will take place in Avondale Cemetery.
