Obituary of Thelma Rockey
With broken hearts we are sad to say that Mom passed away April 13th at the age of 75, peacefully at home with Darryl by her side. She leaves behind her life partner, Darryl Ross; sons, Fred (Lynn), Stellarton, George (Cathy), New Glasgow, Shaun, Ontario, stepson, Robbie, Stellarton; daughters, Cavelle (Rennie) Veenhuis, Prince Edward Island, Kathleen (Terry) Fontaine, New Brunswick, Dolly (Eugene) Mertin, River John, Stephanie (Chuck) Pettipas, McPhersons Mills. She had many grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved to show off pictures of them all; mother and father-in-law, Melvin and Donelda Ross; sisters-in-law, Sharon and Olivia. She was predeceased by her parents, Hedley Russell and Thelma Bessie (Cooke) Jones; brother, Whitman Russell; mother-in-law, Muriel Foote. Mom loved to knit and did so for her family and also for a few charities. She made socks and mitts all year round so she would have lots for everyone. Mom also loved her pictures of her family which she displayed proudly in her living room. Visitation will be held 7-9PM Friday in Sutherlands River Presbyterian Church. Funeral Service will be held 11AM Saturday in Sutherlands River Presbyterian Church with Rev. Gregory Dickson officiating. Donations in Thelma’s memory may be made to the Sutherlands River Presbyterian Church or the Telford Cemetery. www.mclarenfuneral.ca
