Thelma Hawes
Hawes, Thelma Jean – age 70 of Lake Echo. It is with broken hearts that we announce Thelma’s passing on Friday, March 2, 2018 in Dartmouth General Hospital. Thelma was born in Halifax on January 7, 1948 to the late Robert and Pauline (Ernst) Norwood. Thelma is survived by her loving husband and soulmate of 48 years, Steven ; son Craig (Sandra), their children, Amanda and Adriana of Ontario; daughter, Cathy and her children, Aaron, Jamie and Chelsea of Lake Echo.; brothers, Roland, Lake Echo, Paul (Anna), Porters Lake; sisters, Donna, BC, Barbara, Porters Lake and 17 nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister in law, Linda. Thelma lived her life for her family that she loved with all her heart. She enjoyed planting flowers, dancing and playing cards with her brother, Paul and family. Her passion was watching her grandson Aaron play hockey. As a wife, mother, nanny, sister, aunt and friend her love was immeasurable. We would like to thank the doctors and nurses at the Dartmouth General Hospital and Dixon Centre especially Donna Grant for their care and compassion. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Thelma’s Life will be held 11am Thursday, March 8th in St. Anne’s Catholic Church, Lake Echo, Father Gregory Agyeman, officiating.
