It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Bruno on
Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at age 85 with Lida his loving wife of 57 years by his
side. For all involved it was a long good bye after lengthy illness, tempered by
Bruno’s incredible courage. Treasured father of Lou Ann, Leo (Glynis) & Steve
(Colleen); proud nonno of Lily, Quinn, Savannah & Vanessa. Predeceased by his
parents Giacomo & Norina Barei. Late brother Francesco (late Gianna), late
Maria (late Nino), late Antonietta, late Berto (Rita), late Arnaldo (late Velma) and
late Peter (and Margaret). Survived by Carlo (Mary) and Gina (late Silvio). Dear
brother-in-law of Lawrence (Doris) and Mary Ann (Cyril). He truly valued all his
relationships as a husband, dad, uncle, cousin, friend & neighbour, with his
happiest moments telling stories around the kitchen table. Bruno enjoyed working
with his hands and was a skilled cement finisher for over 40 years. He had a
passion for hunting, fishing, bocce, a love of nature, wine making and his teams
Juventus and the Montreal Canadiens and was a long-time member of the
Caboto Club. In keeping with Bruno’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A
special ‘thank-you’ to the staff of Huron Lodge for their outstanding commitment
to his care this past year. A communal memorial mass will be held on November
11, 2018 at 11:30 AM at the Caboto Club. In lieu of flowers, donations can be
made in Bruno’s memory to the Nature Conservancy of Canada.
