OBITUARY
Teddy Archibald August
18 December , 1936 – 8 April , 2018
Ted August, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Sunday, April 8, 2018 at the age of 81 years. Son of Archie and Sophie August, he was born in Carman, MB on December 18, 1936. Ted was predeceased by his wife, Dawn in 2016; his parents, Archie and Sophie; his brother, Ken in 2013; as well as his sister, Annabelle in 2016. He is survived by his children, Pam (Don) and Jeff (Tara); his grandchildren, Megan, Cayden, Gracie, Jarrett and Max; his siblings, Wanda and Sandra; as well as his sister-in-law, Barbara. Ted loved his family and was always so proud of the accomplishments of his children and grandchildren. He took particular pleasure in being a hockey grandpa. Once a banker, always a banker, Ted worked hard to build a foundation for his family so that they could pursue their dreams and make good investments in bank stock (of course). He was so excited about his grandson’s pursuit of flying and dream of going to space, and now has a front row seat to witness his adventures and those of everyone he loves. We have more gratitude that we can possibly express for all the caregivers who came into Ted’s life and for his sister Wanda, who was with him in his final day as he went to be with Jesus. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Michael Catholic Community, 800 – 85 St SW, Calgary, AB, on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at 12:45 p.m. As tribute to his love for his granddaughter Megan, memorial donations may be made directly to Canadian Down Syndrome Society, www.cdss.ca.
