Peacefully at Chartwell Long Term Care Residence, on Tuesday, September 18, 2018, with family by his side, in his 76th year. Beloved husband of Mary, whom he was married to for 25 years. Loving Stepdad of Kim, Bill and Joe Fraser. Adored Papa Ernie to Jessie Fraser and Alex Yoell. Survived by his children: Lance, April and Cole Tavener. Missed by his sister Vera (John) Legg. Remembered by his Uncle Ted Whitworth and family. Beloved Uncle Ernie to Valerie King, and her children: Nevada, Indika, Kaleb and Gabrielle. Predeceased by his parents Vera Esma Tavener and Ernest Tavener. Ernest was born in wartime England, and came to London as a baby. He attended Beck S.S., and became a certified public accountant, working for the federal government in London, Ottawa, Windsor, Kirkland Lake and Kitchener. Ernest found great joy in curling, golfing, and fishing. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be conducted at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Sunday, September 23, 2018 at 1 p.m., with visitation one hour prior. Interment will take place at a later date. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Ernie are asked to consider the Alzheimer Society – London and Middle.
