Sylvia Geraldine Sparks
1950-2018
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Sylvia Sparks
announces her passing, which occurred on Monday, October 22, 2018 at
the Saint John Regional Hospital surrounded by her family’s
love. Born in Dartmouth, NS on November 2, 1950, she was a daughter of
the late Ralph and Irene (Laybolt) Ritchie.
Sylvia was active in her community through the Adanac Club,
and as a past executive director for PRUDE. She enjoyed social events,
and spending time with family and friends playing darts, shuffleboard,
bingo and karaoke.
She will be missed by her children: Tiffany Sparks (Julian),
Tyrell Sparks (Heather) and Travis Sparks; her beloved grandchildren,
Olivia, Aubrey and Robert; her siblings, Joan, Calvin, Marilyn,
Carolyn, Susan and Brian; many nieces, nephews and friends; as well as
her devoted fiancé, Bernard.
In addition to her parents, Sylvia was predeceased by her
husband, Murray Sparks in February, 2016, and her siblings: Realton,
Marion, Carl, Gloria and Wayne.
Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111
Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (506-634-7424) with
visiting on Thursday, October 25, 2018 from 6-8 pm. A Celebration of
Sylvia’s life will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at
4:00 pm from New Beginnings Church, 26 Cherry Brook
Road, Dartmouth, NS. For those who wish, remembrances
