Sylvia and Arthur immigrated to Canada in 1966 settling in Oakville where Syl spent her exemplary nursing career at OTMH. In her spare time she was a valued member of the Oakville Players, a devoted Formula One fan (Go Lewis Go), an admirable gardener, and a prolific knitter.
Upon retirement she volunteered at the Oakville Senior’s Centre until Arthur’s illness demanded all of her time. Moving in 2012 to be closer to family led Syl to the Aurora Senior’s Centre where she discovered Square Dancing, Line Dancing, Hiking, a passion for Mahjong and many new friends.
The family would like to thank Dr Rana, Dr Cho and Dr Yuen at Stronach Regional Cancer Centre and Dr Bedard and staff at PMH for trying their best. Also many many thanks to the amazing staff and volunteers at the The Margaret Bahen Hospice in Newmarket for the exceptional end-of-life care.
A private family service will take place this summer. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to The Margaret Bahen Hospice or the Stronach Regional Cancer Centre at Southlake.
