EVANS, Susan Michelle
July 13, 1968 – April 1, 2018
Susan Michelle Evans of Calgary, Alberta passed away peacefully on April 1, 2018 at the age of 49.
Susan was born July 13, 1968 in Calgary, the daughter of Brian and Virginia Murray. Susan attended Strathcona-Tweedsmuir School and graduated with the class of 1986. She then completed her Kinesiology Degree at the University of Calgary. Moving to San Jose, California, Susan attended Palmer College of Chiropractic and obtained her Doctor of Chiropractic. In the years following her graduation, Susan practiced in California and New York until returning to her hometown, Calgary, to raise her daughters.
Susan will be dearly missed by her two loving daughters, Megan and Sydney Evans; her parents, Brian and Virginia Murray; her sister, Jill Murray; her brother, Paul (Marion) Murray; her nephew, Liam Murray; her niece, Sarah Murray; as well as many beloved friends, extended family, and exceptional friend, Nouha Spyker.
Susan was a skilled athlete, enjoying equestrian riding, competitive rowing, marathon running, and, more recently, skiing and spending time outdoors with her daughters and Labradoodle, Shelby. Throughout her time at Strathcona-Tweedsmuir School, she was an avid participant in Outdoor Education activities, and her passion for the outdoors inspired, and continues to inspire, her daughters.
Susan will be lovingly remembered for her beautiful smile, her boundless energy, her strength, her kindness, and her generosity. She had a positive impact on the many people whose lives she touched.
A service celebrating Susan’s life will be held at EDEN BROOK FUNERAL HOME (17th Avenue SW and Lower Springbank Road) on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded to the family by visiting www.edenbrookcemetery.ca.
If desired, in lieu of flowers, donations supporting the Calgary Humane Society or a non-profit organization of your choice may be made in Susan’s name in hopes of carrying on her beautiful legacy of compassion and generosity.
