Stuart Murgatroyd
1945-2018
It is with great sorrow that the family of Stuart Barry
Murgatroyd announce his passing on Sunday, February
4th, 2018 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital
in Fredericton, NB. Born in Leeds, Yorkshire County, England, he was
the son of the late Harold and Gertrude (Halloway) Murgatroyd. Stuart
was proud to have served in Her Majesty’s Royal Navy before
coming to Canada.
Stuart is survived by his wife of 47 years Yvonne
« Elaine » Murgatroyd of Fredericton, NB; son, Simon
Murgatroyd (Ruth Bartlett) of Frederiction; daughter, Nicola Whalen
(Kevin) of Connecticut; five grandchildren, Kyle Whalen, Sidney
Murgatroyd, Cameron Whalen, Spencer Murgatroyd and Rhys Murgatroyd; 2
nieces, Cheryl Davey and Liane Murgatroyd.
In addition to his parents, Stuart was predeceased by his
brother Keith Murgatroyd.
As requested, there will be no visitation or service. The
family will be doing a private burial later in the spring. Donations
in Stuart’s memory can be made to the Lintuhtine Music
Academy in Oromocto or the New Brunswick Youth Orchestra.
