Obituary of Steven Waters
Waters, Steven G.
Nov 13, 2018 at 47 years.
It is with great sadness that we announce that our family has lost Steven Waters, who will be tremendously missed by his loving partner, Roshelle, his beautiful daughter, Evelyn and her mother, Sherry. Steve also leaves behind his mother, Ella (late George Waters), his brother, Dave (Rebecca), as well as nieces and nephews Lauren,, Ben and Lukas Waters, Ben and Addyson Ferguson. He was also loved by many aunts, uncles, in-laws, friends and colleagues.
Steve was a gifted, self-employed artist blacksmith and taught art metal at Danforth Tech in Toronto since 1998. His self-taught skills led to a position as Special Projects Shop Manager at The Taylor Group where he created sculptures, displays and museum exhibits that will be seen by generations to come around the world. His prominent works include sculptures at the Hockey Hall of Fame and the Dr. Anne Beattie Memorial Sculpture Garden at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. Steve was known for his unique sense of humour and gentle nature. Simple pleasures included hiking, canoeing, fishing and skiing with friends and family.
Steve and his family are forever grateful for the compassionate care and treatment provided by his doctors, nurses and the many staff of Sunnybrook as well as his local palliative home care team. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations be made in Steve’s name to the Carcinoid Neuroendocrine Tumour Society Canada (CNETS Canada, www.cnetscanada.org), to support patient care and innovative research to fight this elusive disease. An informal gathering to celebrate Steve’s life will take place at Jones Funeral Home in Georgetown on Saturday, November 17 between 2 and 5 pm.
Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Steven Waters 2018.
