SMAL, Steve – Passed away suddenly in Fort Pierce, Florida on August 23, 2018 at the age of 58. Steve was born July 4, 1960 to Walter and Emilia Smal in St. Catharines. He attended Thorold Secondary School and Humber College, Class of 1981. Steve had a varied career before becoming a truck driver in 2007. From a young age he became active in the Ukrainian community. Steve was a long-time member of St. Mary’s Church, Main Street, Niagara Falls and served on various committees. Predeceased by his parents, Steve was the beloved husband of Halina (Wojcik) Smal and loving father of Conrad (Caitlin) and Martin Smal. He was cherished and loved by his sister Irene Smal. Steve will be sorely missed by his many cousins and friends in Canada, Poland, and Ukraine. Friends are invited to call at the PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME, 6062 Main St. visiting Friday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Panachyda will be celebrated at 8 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 10 am at St. Mary’s Ukrainian Catholic Church. The Rite of Committal will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
