Obituary of Sterling Melvin
It is with sadness that the family of Sterling Freeman Melvin, age 79, of Corn Hill , NB , announces his death which occurred on Friday, January 26, 2018 at the Moncton Hospital . He was born on March 3, 1938 in Lower Ridge , NB , a son of Herbert and Sophia (Price) Melvin.
Sterling worked as a powder man for Havelock Lime Works. He had a passion for woodworking and enjoyed tending his garden.
He will live on in the hearts of his brothers: Arthur Melvin of London ON, Arnold Melvin of London ON, Lynn (Judy) Melvin of London, ON, Vincent (Bonnie) Melvin of Port Bruce, ON, Gary (Sandra) Melvin of Lucan, ON, Spencer (Doris) Melvin of Smiths Creek, NB, Erban (Janet) Melvin of Corn Hill, NB, Lawrence (Margaret) Melvin of Corn Hill, NB, Myles (Debbie) Melvin of Newtown, NB, Raymond Melvin of Petitcodiac, NB; sisters Florence (Jack) Park of Lucan, ON, Della (Harold) Surrett of Corn Hill, NB, Lorenda (Sydney) Mercer of Snider Mountain, NB, Darlene (Darrell) Stewart of Lincoln, NB; sister-in-law Fay Melvin of London, ON; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers Herb, Herman and sisters-in-law Francis Melvin and Marianne Melvin.
Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex NB (506-433-1176). A graveside service will be held in the spring at Pine Grove Cemetery , Corn Hill.
