Obituary of Stephen Hurley
Stephen Michael Hurley passed away peacefully on September 13, 2018 following a second courageous battle with cancer. Stephen’s life was all too brief in years, Stephen loved life. He loved to share and help others with his knowledge of the Electrical and Power Systems. After his first battle with cancer he made the most of his time, he loved walking with his two Border Collies Putz and Kaci everyday. He was a devoted husband to his wife Madonna (Taylor) Hurley. Stephen was a loyal son to his mother Mary Kate. Stephen was a very devoted and loyal father to his sons Brent, Shane and his step son Roy Kirby. Predeceased by his father Michael Hurley, sisters; Mary (Hurley) Bellivieu, Elizabeth (Hurley) Turcotte and brother Jack Hurley. He leaves to mourn his wife Madonna, sons Brent, Shane and Roy, mother Mary Kate, mother-in-law Gladys Taylor, his siblings; Eileen (Ed) Goldthorpe, sisters-in-law Eileen, Ray (Eileen) Hurley, Lorraine (Ron) Kelly, Martin Hurley, Larry (Dot) Hurley, Kay (Ty) Austin, Jim (Sandy) Hurley, Sharon (Melvin) Lecoure, Peggy (Sterling) Wiseman, Pat (Lorna) Hurley, Mike (Denise Davis) Hurley, Jane (Denis) Thompson, Sheila (Greg) Davis, Rose (Harry Budgell) Hurley, Kelly (Rick Antle) Hurley. His grandchildren; Gracie, Sophie, Erica, Brendan and Ethan; Florence Vickzo (mother of his sons). Numerous nephews and nieces. His dear friends Charlie & Evelyn Peckford, Gene Faulkner & Colleen Powell. Steve will be fondly remembered for his love of his children and family; his will to learn new things, his love and talent of music and his joy of watching and playing hockey. Fly with the angles my DH your suffering is done.
Public visitation will be on Sunday, September 16th from 7-9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Parish, Grand Falls-Windsor on Monday at 11:00 AM.
Pallbearers are Brent Hurley, Shane Hurley, Pat Hurley, Michael Hurley, Charlie Peckford and Gene Faulkner.
