Stanley William Keefe
Keefe, Stanley William 79 of Halifax passed away peacefully, February 19, 2018 at the QEII Halifax Infirmary. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Allan and Dorothy (Clark) Keefe. During his working career, Stan was employed with J & M Murphy Ltd in Halifax and Amherst and later retired from Canada Post after 22 years of service. He was a true “Mr. Fix It”, learning plumbing, carpentry and electrical after purchasing the house in Timberlea. He also was a self-taught mechanic fixing many cars over the years. Stan was predeceased by his beloved wife of over 50 years, Marilyn (Melanson); daughter-in-law, Lisa (King). He is survived by his daughter, Cathy (Harold) Marriott; son, Michael (Evette); grandchildren, Kelley (Harry), Kendra, Malcolm; sister, Nora Jones; brother, Ken (Heather) as well as many nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place under the care of Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd. In keeping with Stan’s wishes there will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held 12:15pm Friday, February 23 in Oakridge Memory Gardens, Middle Sackville. In lieu of flowers donations in memory may be made to Spencer House Seniors’ Center, 5596 Morris Street, Halifax, NS, B3J 1C2 or a charity of choice. The family would like to thank the staff at the QEII Emergency Dept., especially Dr. Heather Flemming for their care and compassion.
