1937 ~ 2017
It is with deep, and heavy sadness that we announce the death of Stanley Walter Dychko, who passed peacefully on February 18, 2017 in Winnipeg, MB in his 79th year. Stan was born December 5, 1937 at the family farm near Kamsack, SK and lived there until pursuing his career as a teacher. He later in life purchased the family farm visiting often as a place of peace and memories from his childhood and maintained long-time friendships with locals in the area.
Educated at Manitoba Teachers’ College, Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois, University of North Dakota, he attained his Masters Degree in Education from the University of Manitoba, and specialized in teaching Industrial Arts. As a skilled craftsman and teacher, he built the family home in Winnipeg.
He taught in Winnipeg for over 20 years and also taught in the remote Manitoba communities of Oxford House, Lac Brochet and Gods River before retiring after 29 years of teaching. His retirement brought him joy with many handy-man projects and opportunities to help others.
He is survived by his three sons, Rodney and his son Tyler; Daniel; and Shaun with his two children Felix and Julia; Diane, mother of his children; his sister Janet; his brother Ed; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Metro and his mother Maria; his brother Joe; and his sister Anne.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday August 12, 2018 at the chapel of Andrychuk Funeral Home with an interment to follow at the Riverview Cemetery.
