Sophie Dora Fogg
On August 17th 2018 with family by her side Sophie Dora Fogg peacefully went to be with the Lord, at Thunder Bay regional hospital following a brief illness. She was 69 years old.
Sophie will be remembered for her kindness and generosity along with her dedication to her family and the love of her grandchildren. She was very giving of herself and put her love into action every day.
Sophie was born in Emo Ontario to Pete and Mary Hnatiuk on December 11 1948, she was the seventh child born. Sophie was raised in Devlin until the age of eight when she went to live with her Uncle Andy and Aunt Helen Hajdu in Stratton Ont. Sophie had a large extended family and spent time living with the Gouliquer family in Pinewood until graduating high school.
Sophie Later moved to Atikokan where she raised the family that meant so much to her. She loved to paint, garden and write. Her love of writing and her experiences in life led her to author a book titled “One our Father”
She spent her time tending to her garden and her grandchildren who she cared for greatly.
Sophie will always be remembered by the family she loved, her partner Ron and all who knew her.
Sophie was predeceased by her infant brother Anthony Hnatiuk by her parents Pete and Mary Hnatiuk, her brother Michael Labbe and her brother Jim Hnatiuk (August 19th 2018)
She is survived by her children Michael Fogg, Jennifer Fogg (Dave), Her Grandchildren Amber and Emily Bates Her sister Ann Onichuck (Fort Frances Ont.) brother John Hnatiuk (Alberta) brother Nick Hnatiuk (Fort Frances Ont.)Her sister Helen Carey (British Columbia) sister Patsy Hnatiuk (Fort frances Ont.) sister Margret (Brent) Taylor (British Columbia) Brother George (Yolande) DeGagne (Elk Lake Ont) Sisters in law Patty Labbe (Fort Frances Ont.)and Ellen Hnatiuk (NS) ( as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday August 28, 2018, 11 am., at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Atikokan, ON.
