Obituary for Solomon Jestican
It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of Solomon Jestican announce his passing. Solomon was born June 17, 1930 in Lockston, Trinity Bay, NL and passed peacefully away February 28, 2018, at St. Claire’s Hospital, St. John’s, at the age of 87 surrounded by loving family. Solomon was predeceased by his parents Annie and Martin, his wife Cavelle, his sisters Esther Louise and Gladys, and his brothers Martin Jr., Samuel and William. He is survived by his sister Irene, his children Karen and Oral and his Grandchildren Jennifer, Emily, Oral Jr. and Cavelle. Solomon was born and raised in Lockston where he enjoyed fishing, walking and hunting. He then moved to Gander in the 50’s where he met his wife Cavelle, who he married in June 15, 1967 in Gander Bay, and raised his family in Gander. In 2008, he moved to St. John’s to be closer to his children and Grandchildren. He lived his final years at Agnes Pratt home where he always attended and enjoyed Sunday service and spoke highly of his love of the outdoors. His family would like to thank the staff at the home for the welcoming love he received in your care.
Resting at Stacey’s Funeral Home Gander with visitation Saturday March 3rd 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm . Funeral service Sunday March 4th , 2pm at St. Martins Anglican Chapel . Interment All Saints Cemetery.
