SISTER RUTH WADE, CSJ
(Sister Mary Ruth) (Dixie)
Surrounded by her CSJ Sisters and her sister Peggy by her side, Sister Ruth passed away peacefully in hospital on April 30, 2018. She was in her 58th year of Religious Life as a Sister of St. Joseph in Canada, Pembroke Neighbourhood. Sisterwas born in Ottawa, a daughter of the late John and Margaret (Kelly). Left to celebrate her life among us are her Sisters in the Congregation, her sister, Peggy (Rod) McBride, as well as nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her brother, Copps and her sister Helen McMahon. Sister Ruth was a Secretary and served many years in the hospital in Radville, Saskatchewan, and served her community in Pembroke for years as business manager. She is one of the founding members of the Stillpoint House of Prayer in Springtown, Ontario and served as Spiritual Director there as well as the Galilee Centre in Arnprior. In her retirement she took an interest in ‘re-designing’ greeting cards. She had her own studio where she would create beautiful cards or re-create used cards, taking courses and staying abreast of any new technology to help her with her creations. She then sold these cards and donated all of the proceeds to our Peruvian Mission, a cause near and dear to her heart. Sister Ruth always had a smile on her face and a pleasant demeanor although her health struggles were many. Visitation will be at the Sisters of St. Joseph Motherhouse Chapel in Pembroke beginning at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 3rd, with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. A funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Friday, May 4th at 10:30 a.m. Interment – St. Columba’s Cemetery, Pembroke. Arrangements in care of the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, Pembroke
