It is with great sadness that the family of the late Shirley Ruth Ford announce her passing at her residence in Corner Brook on Friday, December 7, 2018. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her children: Jackie Hann (Charles), Gussie Bennett (Paul), Carol Ford and Todd Ford (Mary-Lou); grandchildren: Shawn Hann (Paula), Nadine Hann (Brad), Gregory Lemoine (Erin), Sam Ford and Christopher Roche; great-grandchildren: Jordan Duffney-Hann and Ryder Duffney-Hann; sisters: Betty Goodluins, June Lundrigan and Wanda Tarbett; brother Cecil Skeard; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband John Augustus “Gus” Ford, parents Hebert and Mary Skeard, sisters Vera Abbott and Hilda Edwards, brothers Herbert, Ivan and Leslie Skeard. At Shirley’s request there will be no visitation. The funeral service will be held on Monday, December 10, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. from Fillatre’s Funeral Chapel, St. Mark’s Avenue with Rev. Jocelyn Cook officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
