On August 30, 2018, Shirley Marguerite Kent (Messier) of Wainwright, Alberta, passed away with her husband and family by her side, after a short battle with pneumonia, at the age of 82.
Shirley was born on January 8, 1936 in Wainwright, Alberta. She was raised in Heath and attended schools in the Heath and Wainwright area. She began her working career in 1952 at Camp Wainwright where she worked for the next 37 years as Secretary for the Construction Engineers.
