VANDERHOEK, Shirley Katherine
Surrounded by the love of her family, Shirley Katherine Vanderhoek (nee Jenson) passed away on Sunday, October 7, 2018 at the age of 82 after a brief battle with cancer. She is lovingly remembered by her 6 children; Robert “Bob” Vanderhoek; Debbie (Vince) Mancari, Darlene (Don) Rex, Diana (Rick) Pitchuck, Denise (Steven) Ward, Gerry (Christine) Vanderhoek and her furry feline friend Squeak. Shirley is loved by her 14 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Remembered by her sister Pat (Jim) Medai and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her grandchildren Joshua Pitchuck and Kaitlin Vanderhoek, her parents Bill and Flossie Jenson, her sisters Georgina Jenson, Bernice Fardella and Joyce McMurtchy. Also predeceased by Gerry Vanderhoek Sr. Special thanks to Mom’s family, friends and neighbours for their kindness and their love. Friends will be received by the family from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 12, 2018 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1997 Dundas Street East (at Wavell), London. The celebration of Shirley’s life will be held on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. with visitation 1 hour prior. Interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery, London. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to Make a Wish Foundation or to the London Humane Society.
