Sheila Aleda Putnam
Putnam (Lake), Sheila Aleda, age 82, of Dartmouth, passed away on May 3, 2018 in Camp Hill, veteran’s Memorial, QEII.
Born in Walton, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Hazel (Butland) Lake.
Sheila and Ken met and married and began their family in Nova Scotia. Later on, they relocated to Montreal and then Toronto, where they lived for many years. In the year 2000, they returned to the maritimes for their retirement years. She enjoyed shopping, talking on the phone and hosting special meals for her family and friends from all walks of life. She was devoted to her church and had empathy for everyone.
Sheila is survived by sons, Robert (Priscilla), Dartmouth, David (Connie), Hammonds Plains, and Kevin (Yuen), Toronto; grandchildren, Kevin, Matthew, Evie (Hugh) Goldstein, Daniel, Kenneth, Lewis and Audra; great grandchildren, Arik, Benjamin, and Kayla.
She is also survived by her sister Marjorie; sisters-in-law Rita Lake and Heather Lake; brother in law Al (Joan) Putnam, and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband of 51 years, Ken; siblings, Frances Bacon, Laurie, Frank, Harry, Jerry and Carl Lake.
Cremation has taken place. A graveside service for family and friends will be held at a later date in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens with a reception to follow in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main Street Dartmouth.
Memorial donations may be made to the Dartmouth General Foundation.
Special thanks to all of Mom’s friends and family who looked in on her during her illness, in particular Sam and Sylvia who were always there for her.
