Sheelagh Russell-Brown Obituary
Dr. Sheelagh Russell-Brown, age 67, of Halifax, Nova Scotia, passed away on the 24th November 2018 at the Halifax Infirmary.
Born in Fredericton, New Brunswick, she was the daughter of Audrey (née Charters) and Aubrey Russell. Sheelagh is survived by her husband Greg Brown, Halifax, her son, Owen Brown, Chicago, Illinois, and her brother Sean Russell, Ottawa, Ontario.
Sheelagh lived in many places throughout her life and will be sorely missed not only by those in the Halifax area, but also by friends and family in New Brunswick, Ontario, the Czech Republic, and many other places scattered across the globe. She is and was an incredibly loving and caring individual, and she brought her warmth to everything that she did. Sheelagh was an amazing and well-loved teacher, having taught many students over the course of her career in Halifax at Saint Mary’s University, the Canadian Language Learning College, as well as at the Townshend International School in the Czech Republic, and other schools and universities in Canada. Not only was she a caring and dedicated teacher, mother, and wife, but also an extraordinary writer, having written numerous poems and short stories drawing inspiration from all aspects of her life. It is hoped that both her writings and her love will continue to touch all those who they come into contact with.
A memorial service will be held on Monday 3rd December at 11am at the Atlantic Funeral Home followed by interment at the Dartmouth Memorial Gardens, 771 Main Street, Dartmouth.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.
Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Sheelagh Dawn Russell-Brown 2018..
