Sebastian Neumayer
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Sebastian on August 7, 2018.
Sebastian will be mourned by his partner and travel companion, Gisela; his children Brian (Christine) and Lorraine (Rene), and his sister Luise. He also leaves his immediate grandchildren Isabella and Aharon, and other loving family members. All of his grandchildren will fondly remember their “Opa” for his kindness, generosity, and good humour. Sebastian was predeceased by his wife Martha in 2000, his parents Anton and Luise, and two brothers Toni and Rudy in Munich.
Sebastian was born in Munich, Germany on September 5, 1938. He immigrated to Canada in 1958 and was proud to become a Canadian citizen. In recent years, Sebastian, along with Gisela, were well known around Sherwood Park for their efforts to keep the streets and parks clean of litter. He was proud of having the nicest lawn in town and his canine friends and their owners will remember him for all the dog treats he freely dispensed to keep them off it!
Sebastian struggled with declining health and dementia in the final years of his life, but his family and friends will always remember him as he once was; a vibrant, fun-filled, and generous person who will be deeply missed.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 18 at 11:00 am, at Bethel Lutheran Church, 298 Bethel Dr., Sherwood Park, AB. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to World Vision.
