Seaward Lawrence
September 21, 1941 – August 13, 2018
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Seaward Lawrence announces his passing at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre in Port aux Basques, NL on Monday, August 13th, 2018 at the age of 76 years. Born in Isle aux Morts, NL. Seaward was the son of the late Cecil and Florence Lawrence (nee Huelin). He was also predeceased by his father and mother-in-law Joseph and Lorenia Billard (nee Walters); brother John Billard; brothers-in-law Howard LeRiche, Wilfred Hayman plus an infant brother and sister.
He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his loving wife Martha Jane Lawrence (nee Billard) of 55 years; sons Seward Lawrence of Chamberlains Park, CBS, NL, Leon Lawrence (Michelle Hodder) of Isle aux Morts, NL; grandchildren John Lawrence, Rebecca Lawrence, Mikayla Hodder Lawrence; estranged daughter-in-law Annette Scott of CBS, NL; sisters Mary LeRiche of Port aux Basques, NL, Violet (Al) Leuders of Brockville, Ont, Millie (Ken) Bigelow of Kentville, NS; brothers Eric (Karen) Lawrence of Brockville, Ont, Russell (Susan) Lawrence of Pasadena, NL; brothers and sisters-in-law Shirley (Max) Evans, Georgina Hayman, Percy (Harriett Warren) Billard, Joe (Shirley) Billard, Blandford (Doreen) Billard all of Isle aux Morts, NL; Calvin Billard (Roxanne Seymour) of St. John’s, NL; special thank you to Joe and Shirley Billard and niece Sandra McNeil and her husband Patty for all you have done for us, plus a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 14th, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm continuing on Wednesday, August 15th, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Holy Spirit Anglican Church in Isle aux Morts, NL from where the funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 16th, 2018 at 11 am officiated by Rev. Eddie Coleman assisted by Deacon John Billard. In keeping with Seaward’s wishes, cremation will follow with interment of ashes to take place on Friday, August 17th, 2018 at 9:30 am at Hillside Haven Cemetery, Isle aux Morts Road, NL. Flowers are graciously accepted or donations in Seaward’s memory can be made to the family.
